The New England Journal of Medicine, one of the world’s most prestigious medicine journals, just published a new study showing an association between nut consumption with total and cause-specific mortality among 76,464 women in the Nurses’ Health Study and 42,498 men in the Health Professionals Follow-up Study after 30 years of follow up ie eating around 30g or a handful of nuts 7 or more times a week saw a 20% lower death rate compared to those who don’t eat nuts.
